Summary: We collect limited data to operate our game and show ads. We do not sell your personal information. Hopscotch is designed for players of all ages, and we take extra steps to protect the privacy of children under 13.

1. About Us

SMPLGAMESAI LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile game studio based in New Jersey, United States. We develop and publish mobile games, including Hopscotch. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you play our games.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information through our third-party service providers:

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifiable personal information. We do not collect precise location data.

For users under 13: When our app detects or reasonably expects that a user may be under 13, we apply child-directed treatment to all ad requests (see Section 5) and limit data collection to what is strictly necessary for the app to function. We do not serve personalized or interest-based advertising to children under 13.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

Operate, maintain, and improve Hopscotch
Analyze player behavior to enhance game design and user experience
Display advertisements and measure their effectiveness
Process and fulfill in-app purchases
Detect and fix bugs and crashes
Comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

We require that all third-party services used in Hopscotch comply with applicable children’s privacy laws, including COPPA. We do not control these third parties’ data practices and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

5. Advertising & Tracking

Hopscotch displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. We use rewarded ads only — ads are shown when a player chooses to watch them in exchange for in-game rewards. There are no auto-play ads, interstitial ads, or banner ads.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14.5 and later, Hopscotch will request your permission before accessing your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, we will not access your IDFA and ads will not be personalized based on cross-app tracking.

Child-Directed Ad Treatment: For users under 13 or when the age of the user is unknown, Hopscotch applies child-directed treatment to all ad requests. This means:

Interest-based advertising (IBA) and remarketing are disabled
The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not transmitted
Ad content is filtered to a maximum content rating of G (suitable for general audiences)

SKAdNetwork: Hopscotch includes Apple’s SKAdNetwork framework identifiers to allow advertisers to measure ad effectiveness in a privacy-preserving way, without accessing personal data. SKAdNetwork does not track individual users.

Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads — you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant to you.

6. In-App Purchases

Hopscotch offers optional in-app purchases (HopCoins). All payment transactions are processed directly by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card information. Purchase history is managed through RevenueCat to fulfill your in-game purchases and restore them if needed.

For users under 18, in-app purchases require parental approval through Apple’s Family Sharing and Ask to Buy features.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Hopscotch is designed for players of all ages, including children under 13. We are committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and take the following measures to protect children’s privacy:

Limited data collection: We do not collect personally identifiable information from any users, including children. The data we collect (device information, usage data, crash data) is limited to what is necessary to operate the app.
No personalized ads for children: When the app detects or reasonably expects a user may be under 13, child-directed treatment is applied to all ad requests. This disables interest-based advertising, disables remarketing, blocks the transmission of the advertising identifier, and restricts ad content to G-rated material.
No behavioral tracking of children: We do not build behavioral profiles of children under 13 and do not use children’s data for targeted advertising.
Parental rights: Parents and guardians may contact us at studio@smplgamesai.com to:
- Request information about data collected from their child
- Request deletion of any data associated with their child’s use of the app
- Refuse further collection of their child’s data

We will respond to verified parental requests within a reasonable time frame. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in a manner inconsistent with COPPA, we will promptly delete that information.

8. Data Retention

We retain analytics and usage data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Aggregate, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through our games. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Deletion: Request deletion of your data
Opt-out: Opt out of interest-based advertising (see Section 5)
CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. International Data Transfers

SMPLGAMESAI LLC is based in the United States. Our third-party service providers may process data in various countries. By using Hopscotch, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Hopscotch after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
